Vacation, mountains, lakes, valleys, and dogs. Enjoy your time with your dogs here in Rauris, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Here, nature is still untouched, the air is clear, and the meadows are lush green in summer, while the slopes and mountains are covered in snow in winter. Surrounded by an impressive mountain range, you can almost feel the traditions and history of Austria.
Discover the beauty of the Salzburg mountains through hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and sledding, as well as activities like geocaching, rafting, canyoning, paragliding, biking, Nordic walking, and of course, hiking and mountaineering. PURE NATURE in the Rauris Valley. There are hiking trails in the Hohe Tauern National Park as far as the eye can see!
A network of over 295 km of marked hiking trails and via ferratas awaits you in the Rauris Valley. For those aiming for the peaks, the highest weather observatory in Europe, SONNBLICK, is a highlight you shouldn’t miss.
And for those who prefer a leisurely pace, the RAURISER HOCHALMBAHNEN offers ‘easy hiking.’ In the KRUMLTAL, rare bearded vultures, griffon vultures, and golden eagles can be found. Guided hikes through the national park provide fascinating insights into the lives of these magnificent creatures. Also, don’t forget to visit the NATIONALPARKHAUS ‘Könige der Lüfte’ in Wörth for exciting insights.
Between June and September, you can try your hand at GOLD PANNING. You’re allowed to keep the fine flakes of pure gold you find. In our small village, there are many little shops to discover.
Rauris invites you to stroll and explore small cafes, sports shops, and souvenir stores. Bakeries and butchers offer delicious regional specialties for you to take home. Two supermarkets in the village complete the offering.
